The hike was about 4.5 hr and 8 miles (rt) with elevation gain 1,500 ft

This is the view from the parking lot and start of trail. You will be hiking around the right side of the lake and then up that canyon past the lake and to your left.

Hiking around the lake was on a sandy flat easy trail but once you get to the head of the lake you start climbing and the trail gets pretty rocky (loose rocks and scree so its a really good idea to have hiking poles)

It's an easy trail to the follow - well established

As you can see, anyone can do this hike

Convict creek is running down the ravine and had a steady flow.

Hiked to the washed out old concrete bridge. The river gets pretty raging in the late spring according to my companion who has hiked it in the spring and hence the washed out bridge.

At this point 2 rivers meet and you can see up to your right, the canyon that the new river is coming down from.

Great Geo-features along the hike and you can easily see how the glaciers came through and pushed the rock moraines to the sides all the way to the lake level.

At the washed out concrete bridge we turned around and never made it to Mildred Lake - oh well there's always next time!
